RECRUITMENT FOR 250 new jobs in county Wexford is to begin immediately.
The county got a massive Christmas boost yesterday (Monday) with the announcement that the jobs are to be created by call centre company Eishtec.
The announcement was made at the County Council headquarters by Ministers Brendan Howlin and Richard Bruton, along with company directors.
Eishtec already employs 400 people in Waterford and is now to open a new premises at Sinnottstown Lane on the outskirts of Wexford town. THE NEW jobs will offer 'a lifeline' to Wexford people who are out of work, said Fine Gael T.D. Liam Twomey.
Dr. Twomey said he is delighted the announcement has come before Christmas when people are feeling under increased financial pressure. The Wexford deputy said he will continue to work in whatever way he can to secure more jobs for Wexford and the south east as the Government moves towards its target of creating 100,000 jobs by 2016.
