Kiltealy/Ballindaggin -- all the news


Kiltealy Senior Citizens annual Christmas party will take place on Sunday next 9th December in Kiltealy Community Hall at 1pm. All senior citizens are invited. Family members and friends are more than welcome to join in after dinner to take part in the festivities. Over 90 attended the party last year and the committee are looking forward to a large attendance this year also and have a wonderful afternoon of good food, drink, spot prizes and entertainment planned.


Recently there has been an increase in thefts and break-ins locally, so it has been suggested to hold a meeting in Kiltealy Community Hall with a view to reduce criminal activity in our community and to be on alert for any issue that affects our members well being. There is the possibility of setting up the Text Alert System currently running in Killanne and Ballindaggin. Therefore a meeting will be held this Wednesday evening 5th December at 8pm in Kiltealy Community Hall. All are welcome.


Recent winners of "Split the Pot" (Kiltealy N.S. fundraiser) 19th November was Libby Cullen who won half the takings of €150 and winner 26th Nov. Noel Cowman (second class) who won €165. Play "Split the Pot" every week by putting €2 in a special envelope available in local shops, pubs, Post office and school and write your name and phone number on it to enter the draw.


Congratulations to local coupleTeresa Aylward, Askinvillar and Pat Farrell, Kiltealy who were married in Kiltealy Church on Friday 30th November and had a reception afterwards in The Talbot Hotel, Wexford. They are wished every happiness for the future.


Dancing classes have resumed in Kiltealy Community Centre on Monday nights beginning at 8.30 pm until 10 pm. Come and learn the old time waltz, quick step, fox trot and more. For further information contact Alan O'Brien on 0872617446.


The Toddlers/babies Christmas party will take place at next meeting on Friday 7th December in Caim Community Centre. A very special person may drop in that morning to play games and have a sing along. All toddlers and babies in the area are welcome. The numbers drawn last week were 10, 20, 30, 31. No jackpot winner, two players matched 3; Bridget O'Connor, Monbeg and Eanna Murphy, Caim Lower who share €150. Sellers prizes went to; Cella Connolly, Jack Jordan, Watchorn Family and Matt Mernagh.

The jackpot this week is €8,700 and the draw tonight is in Bowe's, Kiltealy at 9.30 pm.


An art exhibition of oil paintings of local scenes by local artists will be held at Charlmount House, Tombrack, Ferns opening on Friday 7th December at 7 pm and also on Saturday 8th December and Sunday 9th December from 2 to 5 pm.


The Duffry Social Club meet every Wednesday in Kiltealy Community Centre from 2 to 5pm for bingo, cards, chat and refreshments. All welcome.
