LIGHT refreshments were served at places of work and in homes all over Enniscorthy district last week as part of the national hospice homecare coffee morning campaign.
Oylegate's Eamonn Mernagh was pleased to report that a dozen venues were on the calendar this year.
The coffee morning in his pub brought in €515: 'That's a lot of coffee in a little place like Oylegate,' he suggested. Other venues included the CBS in Enniscorthy and the Garda barracks.
'There has been a good response and it is a good cause,' said the publican who is one of the main organisers of Wexford hospice home care fundraising around Enniscorthy.
The service pays for six hospice nurses who assist families across County Wexford in their homes. Most of the patients have cancer.
