THE STUDENTS in the performing arts department at Enniscorthy Vocational College have been using their talents to good effect. Representatives of the Slaney Search and Rescue organisation were called to the campus beside the Milehouse Road to receive a donation last week from the young musicians.

The €584 handed over was the proceeds of the 'Breaking the Wall' gig which was staged before Christmas as a showcase for emerging Wexford rock bands.

Five acts took part – Free Reign, System Saviour, Breakdown, Kobi, and Flashback on a most enjoyable night at Wilson's in Templeshannon. The money will be used towards meeting the cost of a new sonar detector which is expected to prove invaluable in the work of the search and rescue volunteers.
