SIMON Collins from the Wexford branch of Birdwatch Ireland will give talks next week on identifying and feeding garden birds in advance of a bird survey in December.
The talks will be held in Gardiner Grain, Millands, Gorey, on Thursday, October 10, at 7.30 p.m. and in Gardiner Grain, Coolgreany, on Friday, October 11, at 7.30 p.m. Tea will be served. All welcome.
GOREY ICA will hold a General Meeting on Tuesday, October 8, at 8 p.m. in The Loch gCarman Arms, Gorey. The guest speaker on the night is Maureen O'Callaghan from the Trillium Centre, Gorey. All welcome.
THE Diamond Bridge Club restarted in Gorey Community School last week. Play starts every Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. and a joker system is in operation. All players, whether members or newcomers, will be warmly welcomed.
A COFFEE morning and cake sale will be held on Thursday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Loch gCarman Arms Hotel, Main Street, Gorey, to raise funds to customise a wheelchair for a special little girl from Gorey - Kila Mahoney.
A raffle will be held on the day with lots of great prizes donated from local shops and businesses.
CREAGH BRIDGE CLUB
CREAGH Bridge Club meets on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 p.m. in the music room of Gorey Community School. We welcome new members who can meet us there or phone 086 2553806.
A NIGHT of music, song, dance, and stories will be held in The Rock Hall to celebrate The Gathering, on Tuesday, October 8, at 8.30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Tea will be served.
THE Big Tea for Independent Age will take place in The Loch gCarman Arms, Gorey, on Friday, October 4, from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Independent Age is a charity which helps to alleviate loneliness and social isolation amongst older people on very low incomes. OUR DAY OUT
GOREY Little Theatre Group's hit August play 'Our Day Out' will return to the Theatre this Friday night, October 4, at 8.30 p.m. for one night only to raise funds for Gorey School of Art's new building project which is currently underway at the Mary Ward Lane. All support would be greatly appreciated.
This play is on the Junior Cert curriculum this year so parents and Junior Cert students might be particularly interested in attending.
Tickets are €15 for adults and €10 for students, and the adult tickets include a complimentary glass of wine upon arrival.
The event is kindly supported by Gorey Little Theatre.
THE Parents Association at Bunscoil Loreto will hold their AGM on Tuesday, October 1, at 7.30 p.m. in the school hall. All parents welcome.
NORTH Wexford's Yellow Moon Theatre Company will bring its one-act productions of 'The Dumb Waiter' and 'Tone Clusters' to Gorey Little Theatre on Wednesday, October 2, and Thursday, October 3, at 8 p.m.

SPRINGMOUNT Garden Centre, Ballycanew, is hosting a Coffee Morning on Thursday, October 3, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. to raise much needed funds for the local Hospice Homecare.

COLAISTE Bhríde, Carnew, is to a host a fun charity ride on Sunday, October 6, at The Gap Pub, Ballythomas, Gorey.
Parking and registration are available at the large car park and the ride will begin at 11.15 a.m. and return at 3.15 p.m. Refreshments will be served in The Gap Pub afterwards. All levels of riders are welcome on this fun day out.
The charity ride is being organised by the hardworking equine club in Coláiste Bhríde. The cost is €10 per child and €15 per adult.

LIAM Lawton will perform some of his hymns and songs at St. Patrick's Church, Craanford, on Thursday, October 17.

GOREY Credit Union's Primary Schools' Quiz takes place in October. The quiz for third and fourth class takes place on Wednesday, October 9, in The Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, at 7 p.m. sharp.
The quiz for fifth and sixth class, will be held on Wednesday, October 16, in The Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey, at 7 p.m. sharp. The final for both takes place the following Wednesday.
LOCAL artists are invited to submit entries for this year's Credit Union National Art Competition. This year's theme is 'Gotta Lotta Colour', and entries can be submitted to Gorey Credit Union. Categories range from Under 7 to 18, and adults.
There is also a special category for those with physical or intellectual disabilities. Entries must be submitted before Friday, November 1, to Gorey Credit Union.
