The priests and parishioners of St Aidan's Cathedral have welcomed a statue of St Anthony to the church.
The assistance of the patron saint of lost causes is in demand whenever anything goes missing.
Now his likeness may be seen along one of the side aisles after the statue was acquired from the Presentation Sister in Mooncoin.
Sponsors were found to pay the €700 price to the nuns, who have had a clearout as they are leaving their convent in Co Kilkenny.
Though it is not an antique, cathedral administrator Fr Richard Lawless believes that it fits in well in its new surroundings.
'People have a great devotion to St Anthony,' said Fr Richard. 'He is very popular.'
