Retirees get out and walk

Members of Enniscorthy retirement association turned out in good number to take part in the organisation's annual sponsored walk. They took their exercise in brilliant sunshine, staring out from Abbey Square and proceeding out the Old Dublin Road to the Kilcannon garden centre and back to the community workshop in Bellefield. There they were joined by friends for a very delicious barbecue, enjoyed by one and all.
The association is becoming a byword for promotion of fitness, with members often taking to the country walk extension of the Promenade. Last Tuesday, they headed to St Mullins in Co Carlow for a walk besides the beautiful river Barrow. And they will be off on their travels again later this week, as on Thursday, July 25, they explore Malahide Castle and Gardens and then take a tour of Glasnevin cemetery.
While other sections of the organisation are poised to take a summer break during the month of August, the ramblers will continue their hikes while the Wednesday walkers will also remain in action.
