Certs handed out to members of Traveller community health plan

ELEVEN members of the Wexford Traveller community health programme received their 'walking leader' certificates from the Irish Heart Foundation at a happy ceremony in the Kilcannon garden centre. The certs were presented by Wexford County Council chairwoman Kathleen Codd Nolan.
Fran Ronan from Wexford Sports Active and course tutor Frank Fahy spoke of the benefit of exercise for both fitness and fun. Ali Connors and Nan Connors spoke about the Wexford Traveller community health programme, which is all about encouraging members of the Traveller community to become fit and be healthy.
The programme is managed by Wexford Local Development and funded by the HSE.
Members of the Traveller community from all over County Wexford have felt the benefit through participation since its inception in 2006.
