MANAGER Tommy Smith departed the Syddan hot-seat recently and his successor Shay Duff could have a battle on his hands to keep his side clear of relegation trouble.
However, despite their second successive IFC defeat at Meath Hill on Friday night, there were signs of better days ahead for the north Meath outfit.
They welcomed back some of their more established players, who boosted the team's performance. Early injuries to Philip Duff and Luke Halpenny didn't help the cause, but it was anyone's game right up until the introduction of Brian Farrell, who proved a major asset to the Nobber attack.
At half time Nobber led 0-3 to 0-2, and although Ian Curran struck for a Syddan goal in the second half, the winners possessed a more potent attack which proved decisive.
Derek Young, Eamonn Maguire, Sean Malone and Paddy Farrelly were best for Syddan.
