Winger Brady happy with build-up of momentum
'WE'VE got a few results over the last couple of weeks, starting with the EA Sports Cup in Derry and we have a bit of momentum now, we have that good feeling back of winning again and we have started building on it,' said Drogheda midfielder Cathal Brady after the Boynesiders beat Derry 2-0 on Friday night.
It's that winning feeling which has alleviated some of the frustrations that surrounded the squad in the last few weeks, with results not going their way.
Drogheda have now recorded three wins on the bounce and Brady feels it all started with the hard-fought 0-0 draw away to league leaders St Pats.
'It all sort of kicked off with the Pats result and we went from there really and it has just grown and hopefully we can kick on from there now.'
For the Meath native the last few games have not only represented an up-turn in form for Drogheda, but a return to the starting XI and it's something he's keen to take advantage of.
'I think I have been a little bit unlucky all year, not to play more than I have, just the way we have set up in some games maybe didn't suit me, I think the last while we have played an out and out wide man which I am, I've been waiting for it for a while and now I'm going to take it,' he said.
Brady's performance on Friday night may have gone somewhat unnoticed because his is a thankless job on the wing, but it's something he understands and doesn't complain about.
'My job is to get balls into the box, and that's what I do, it's the job of others to attack them and get on them, but as long as I keep putting them in then I can be satisfied with my performance,' explained the 28-year-old.
