THE Hawks are off and flying again – after a 4-2 win in Dromin on Saturday morning.
Beaten by Donacarney the previous week, Gary Doyle and Richie Caffrey wanted an immediate reaction and they got it as Town bossed much of the contest.
They went close inside nine minutes, a darting run down the wing from Thomas O'Connell and cross finding Robert Murphy in the centre and his chip came back off the crossbar.
But two minutes later Femi Fanifosi ran into space to blast home the lead score.
With Christian Connolly, Sean Caffrey, Cian Matthews, Fanifosi and Aaron Moran showing up well, Town kept it tight after that but it was early in the second half when the second goal came, Hugh Murphy launching a big kick out to Fanifosi and his run and cross found Matthew Askins, the ball spilling clear for Luke Kelly to grab his first for the club.
With Rian Byrne Farrell and Maurice Quediago solid at the back, Dromin had few chances.
Town pushed on and the tenacious Askins made it three on 41 minutes.
Murphy made a couple of timely interceptions before TJ Doheny brought Town back into it, only for Bema Meite to take on a Caffrey pass to blast the fourth.
Dromin pulled another one back in the final minutes.
Luke O'Driscoll and Edvinas Butauskas were others to show up well on the day.
