Devine the star as Crescent hit six

IAN Devine stole the show as Drogheda-Marsh Crescent hit their Meath opponents for six last Sunday in Division one of the Meath & District League.
The game was over before as a contest before the half hour mark as the Crescent blitzed Kells Celtic with four unanswered goals.
The contest was only three minutes old when Daniel Darby was pulled down inside the box. Devine stepped up and coolly found the back of the net for his first of the match.
Shortly after that Devine fired in a low shot that somehow went under the Kells 'keeper to make it 2-0.
More pain was to come the way of the Meath men when a neat one-two between Darby and Devine led to the deadly marksman grabbing a hat trick in thirteen first half minutes.
Not content with three goals, Devine was soon to add his fourth of the game when he smashed in a tremendous volley from almost 30 yards that went in off the crossbar.
With the Kells team in shock Gary Beckford got in on the act when he made it 5-0 in before the 40 minute mark.
On the stroke of halftime the visitors finally woke up and scored their first of the game to cut the Crescent lead to four goals.
Unsurprisingly the second half performance from the Drogheda side lacked the spark and urgency of the first with the visitors scoring straight from kick off to make it 5-2.
James Guilfoyle got the only second half goal for Drogheda-Marsh Crescent as they were content to sit back and keep the ball.
The final act of the game came when the travelling side scored in the last minute of the match to make the score look a bit more respectable.
