Thomas O'Brien (2), Charlie Cullen and Aaron Traynor were all on target, before Athboy pulled a goal back to leave the scoreline at 4-1 going into half-time.

That proved to be merely a consolation for the away side, however, as Kentstown scored six without reply in the second period.

Traynor added two to his first-half strike to complete his hat-trick, Cullen added his second of the game and there were also goals for Kit Waddington, Peter Drummond and Finn McCarthy.

KENTSTOWN ROVERS: Jamie Flynn, Liam Maguire, Sean Dalton, Will Finnegan, Ben Coffey, Daire Walsh, Kit Waddington, Thomas O'Brien, Aaron Traynor, Peter Drummond, Eimhin Power, Finn Mc Carthy.
