ABBEY Celtic brushed past their Cavan opponents with ease last Sunday to move top of their Meath & District Division.
The Drogheda outfit raced into a three goal lead after 20 first half minutes, with the goals coming from Jay Reynolds, Rickey Burke and Kev McGeogh.
With the game heading towards the interval Martin Kelly popped up to make it 4-0 at halftime.
Cavan Town started the on the front foot and grabbed their first of the match when Kevin Morris took his chance well following a defensive mix-up.
However, there was no danger of a comeback happening and Burke was on hand to get his second of the game to make it 5-1.
Craig O'Connor entered the game and smashed home a beauty from outside the box. Man of the match Burke then completed his hat trick when he connected with a corner kick.
The visitors kept plugging away and they got their second goal of the game when Morris scored again in the last five minutes.
