Five gold indoors at AIT

THIRTY athletes from Cushinstown AC travelled to Athlone IT for the Leinster juvenile indoor championships and bagged five gold, 10 silver and one bronze medal.

Leading the way was Elizabeth Morland who came away with three gold for the long jump, high jump and 60m hurdles.

Shane Joyce won gold in the long jump, having jumped a PB of 6.28m, and Donal Kearns won a gold in 60m hurdles and two silver medals in the high jump and long jump.

Keith Marks came home with two silver medals for 60m hurdles and high jump and Luke Mc Cabe won a silver in 400m and bronze in 200m. Other silver medallists winners were Michael O' Sullivan for the shot, Zoe Mohan shot, and Luke Redmond 60m.

U12 athletes Killian Cahill won silver in the long jump and Katie Lenehen won silver in the shot putt on their first visit to this competition, while other athletes who did well and got into the finals of the 60m sprints were Oisin Keogh, James Mc Cann and James Redmond.
