EVA Cummins was the class act for Boyne AC as she scooped an individual silver medal in the Juvenile Development Cross-Country Championships in Dunboyne last Sunday.

There were more than 700 athletes competing in the various age groups and representing Boyne were eight hardy athletes who braved the elements and the mud-soaked course to gain four top-10 finishes in all.

Young Caer ni Ghibne ran an excellent 1,000m to finish in ninth position in the girls u11 event and in the equivalent boys event Calum Sheedy led the way for Boyne, with Eoghan Brenann, Killian McLoughlin and Euan Canniffe all close behind.

Eva Cummins was magnificent in the u15 girls 2,500m race, speeding home in the silver medal position, while clubmate Rurcan O'Gibne finished in an impressive sixth place in the boys event for that age group.

Ewan McArdle, fresh from his Ràs na hEireann success, battled it out over 3,000m to finish in a fine sixth place also.
