Big gap between top and bottom

THE yawning gap between the top and bottom halves of the Duleek & District Dart League's top division was highlighted in the final round of games on Monday night.
Despite having home advantage against their counterparts, the four teams at the bottom all suffered defeats and struggling Cottage and Thatch only picked up one game between them.
It was the same story in Division 1, although second-bottom Admirals pulled well clear of doomed Boyles with a hard-fought win in the battle of the basement teams.
The Premier and First Division qualifiers will now turn their attention to the knockout stages after the St Patrick's holiday, although before that there is one final round of games in the lower divisions coming up this Friday night.
Meanwhile, Matthews B, Watters, O'Neills B and Coast Tavern have earned semi-final spots in the John Speedy Heavey Cup competition.
