Following a slow start when aided by the breeze, Gaeil Colmcille eventually dominated the second quarter and at half-time had built up a 0-8 to 0-2 lead. Daniel Byrne and Tomás Conlon were on the mark for the home side.

The game was over as a contest within two minutes of the restart as Evan Sheridan pointed and Freddie Newman found the net to leave it 1-9 to 0-2.

North Meath reduced the deficit to six points at one stage, but Kells then hit two goals in as many minutes and eventually ran out easy winners.

The winners progress to a semi-final and the losers contest a quarter-final tie.
