KILKERLEY Emmets qualified for the O'Donnell Cup semi-final despite suffering a nine point defeat at the hands of Mattock Rangers after other results allowed them to cling on to a top four place.
The Emmets, who will now face champions St Patricks in the last four, were never really able to get to grips with the visitors who turned in an impressive display. In what was an entertaining game, Mattock had the better of the first half and went in leading by 0-7 to 0-4 at half time.
With Kilkerley relying on Shane Lennon for their scoring threat, the Collon men stretched their advantage in the second half before a goal from sub, Shane Grimes, sealed victory.
