GLYDE Rangers secured fifth spot in the Division 2 League thanks to this comprehensive victory over Young Irelands in Dundalk on Sunday afternoon.
The home side also had aspirations of making the play-offs but it is the Tallanstown side who made it through to a meeting with St Marys on Sunday next.
The Young Irelands got off to a great start and kicked the first three points of the game. However, Glyde soon got into their stride and three goals in quick succession from Trevor O'Brien (2) and Stephen Sharkey had them in a commanding 3-7 to 0-5 lead at the break.
There was no way back for the Young Irelands after that and Glyde completed with victory with goals from O'Brien and Barry Sharkey.
