DROGHEDA Port was one busy spot last week.
I came across a great sight recently with three ships tied up at Steam Packet Quay, but last week there were nine passing in and out from various parts of the world.
The Merle arrived from Passajes, northern Spain with steel, the Sergey Kuznetsov from Russia with bulk-cargo and Amazon Diep with timber Loading took place onto the Sagabank, from Hamburg, Wilson Reef, out of Rotterdam, while the Nephrite sailed in from Klipeda in Lithuania.
The Richelieu, from Liverpool collected machinery, Arklow Ruler came up the Manchester ship canal to take on bulk cargo and the Hohe Bank from Ayr had fabricated units.
