Yellow box to keep Horse Lane clear for emergency services

The area at Horse Lane used by rescue services.

THE Borough Council is to renew the yellow box at the entrance to the boathouse at Horse Lane after complaints that cars were blocking emergency services.

The area is home to facilities for the Drogheda River Rescue and the Coastguard and in a notice of motion to the council by Cllr. Imelda Munster she asked for 'any suggestions or proposals that would resolve an issue which has arisen due to the manner in which some cars are parked, causing an obstruction and blocking access for the river rescue emergency services'.

The council confirmed work would take place on the boxes and clearway road markings would be put down in the vicinity.
