MOOREHALL Lodge Drogheda officially opened its doors this week on the Dublin Road, creating 60 new jobs.
Moorehall Lodge Drogheda is part of the Moorehall Living Group, which operates the renowned Moorehall Lodge facility in Ardee, as well as day service, disability and homecare programmes.
Built on a household model that creates a true home environment, Moorehall Lodge Drogheda will cater for up to 60 residents.
Uniquely, it features a streetscape of reproduction Drogheda shopfronts from times past.
'Moorehall Lodge Drogheda will provide a positive living experience for people in a place they can flourish and call home,' said proprietor Michael McCoy. 'For us, care is always about a person's right to a warm and loving home and a meaningful life, connected to families and friends.'
Each of the households – Newgrange, Rosnaree, Mellifont and Millmount – has its own front door, kitchen, living room and dining room. Each house also has its own dedicated staff with private and shared public areas.
Moorehall Lodge Drogheda features wonderful reproductions of old Drogheda shop fronts, and local photographic memories throughout the facility.
'We have recreated a number of Drogheda shopfronts, packed with genuine goods from times gone by, to create a streetscape of memories. We are very grateful to Des Clinton for allowing us to use his collection of old Drogheda faces and places which make every wall a conversation starter.'
Moorehall Lodge Drogheda also offers specialist dementia care based on ' The Butterfly Programme' which aims to make emotional connections for people on a daily basis.
Moorehall Lodge Drogheda will be providing services for VHI, Aviva Health, Laya Healthcare and the HSE.
Moorehall was founded by Michael McCoy in 1998.
