Musical society to screen 1986 show

MEMBERS of the Drogheda Musical Society of the mid-'80s are likely to be out in force on Sunday, April 13, for a special show in the Venue, McHugh's at 7 p.m.

After some fine DVD work by Ben Corcoran, they are showing a performance of 'The Sudent Prince', staged in March 1986 at the MMM auditorium, live on the big screen!

Everybody is welcome to come along, even if they were not involved, and admission is free.

Margie Mulvanney and Paul McCann were the stars of the show which featured 50 people. Local solicitor Paul Moore was ably feted for his portrayal of Lutz and the 'three musketeers' were Frank Donough, the late Val Sarsfield and the late Paddy Keelaghan.

The cast also included Jimmy Dooley, Paddy Byrne, Maurice Daly, Pearse Brannigan, Finian Brannigan, John Regan, Jane King, Christy Duffy, Paula Maguire, Lynn Holland, Karen Hanratty and Nuala Breen to name but a few.
