STUDENTS in a Slane school were very much in tune after receiving an amazing gift.

The pupils and staff of St Patrick's NS were delighted to receive a bursary from the Johnston family and the Johnston Music Festival committee.

The aim of the bursary is to assist the school in developing their school orchestra and to offer music lessons after school to pupils. The school purchased a drum kit, cymbals and accordions. School Principal Mrs. Sheridan said, 'We are absolutely delighted to receive such a gift. We have set up a school orchestra under the baton of Mr Gerry Kelly. We have used the money to purchase instruments. The pupils are very excited about learning to play and we are looking forward to hearing them perform.'

The Johnsons arrived at the school to hear the musicians in full flow.
