LOCAL PARENTING expert Allen O'Donoghue will join broadcasting legend Gerry Kelly of LMFM in studio for a regular slot helping parents to cope with the challenges of parenting.
From tots to teens parenting can be hugely rewarding but it's not without its problems. Many parents feel like they are on their own and can't ask for help.
But chances are whatever you are now going through has been experienced by others before you.
Drogheda born and reared Allen is a specialist in the field of family dynamics and in his work he has supported hundreds of families in building better relationships.
He is a qualified coach, facilitator and trainer with 15 years of experience.
'I'm delighted to have this monthly radio feature with Gerry Kelly on LMFM's Late Lunch programme. Each month we will focus on a different stage of parenting depending on the ages of your children. In the first episode (Thursday, January 24 at 2 p.m.) we'll focus on the three pillars of parenting, vital for parents of kids of all ages. It's also an opportunity for parents to text in their queries and we'll answer them live on air,' Allen explained.
Allen, himself a father of two, admits 'as a parent you are never going to get everything right. You are not handed a manual when your kids are born to tell you what to do. But the most important thing is to remember that you are not on your own. Talk to friends, neighbours and family or seek specialist support - you are not on your own.'
