A FORMER Newtown Blues GAA star is now the darling of Toronto football.
Heather Anne Walshe from Glenmore Drive has just been named as the Toronto ladies football player of the year 2012.
Heather won back to back Junior and Intermediate championships with the Blues and was their player of the year in 2011.
She continued this form in Canada throughout 2012 where she won both the ladies football championship with her team St Mikes and the North American camogie championship with the Toronto team. She's the first Louth girl to win this award, much to the delight of all the players and fans, the biggest of which is Oldbridge man Joey Reynolds who headed off with Heather to Canada.
