CLLR FRANK Godfrey has welcomed the news that Louth County Council will carry out a traffic assessment at Grangebellew.
He had tabled a motion at the monthly meeting of the council calling the provision of rumble strips and increased warning signs of band bends ahead at Grangebellew. There had, he said, been one fatality in the area in 2010 at the railway bridge and he wanted an assessment and report carried out. He was told that the council will carry out an assessment of traffic speeds to see if traffic calming measures are needed. This would be dependant on resources being available and any works to be carried out would also be dependant on funding.
