FIRE IN MONEYMORE HOME

A WOMAN was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation following a fire in Moneymore.

The fire was reported around 3am on Christmas morning.

Two appliances attended the scene from Drogheda Fire Brigade and the blaze was contained to an upstairs bedroom.

Drogheda gardai attended the scene but are not treating the fire as suspicious.

A was also reported at a home in Brookside Bettystown at 4.30am on December 27th.

The service also attended a fire at a shed in Duleek at 3.40am on Christmas Day morning and also a car fire in Yellowbatter on St Stephen's Night.

Gardai reported a relatively quiet Christmas with just a couple of public order incidents to deal with.
