Defendant fails to show in court, fined €600

PAUL DUNNE, Chord Road, Drogheda, was fined a total of €600 when he failed to appear at Drogheda District Court to answer charges relating to public order offences.
The court heard that gardai came across an altercation between a group of males in Stockwell Street on February 4th last. The defendant was very intoxicated and abusive towards gardai and refused to leave the scene when asked to do so.
Judge Flann Brennan imposed fines of €200 for being intoxicated in a public place, engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour and failing to comply with the directions of a garda.
