WHAT A difference a week makes!
The Drogheda Independent reported two weeks ago that the famed Magdalen Tower, dating to 1224, was becoming overgrown with weeds, despite being on the main tourist trail in the town.
But, last week, the council undertook a major clean-up operation at the location, removing bags of rubbish, leaving the site pristine.
'It's an excellent job,' one local stated. 'Two ladies came up and put in a huge effort and it looks great now.'
