THE 'Only Love' concert to be performed by local singer Carmel Boyle in the Droichead Arts Centre on Sunday, December 8, at 8pm will now raise funds for the Augustinian Philippines fund.
Carmel's performance of Nana Mouskouri hits was originally performed in October in aid of An Croí to a full house with great reviews and she is now back by popular demand.
In the light of the typhoon disaster in the Philippines the proceeds will go towards relief for victim's families. Carmel, who has a long link with the Augustinian community in Drogheda said that she heard Fr Colm speak of the Augustinian connection with the area affected and decided that proceeds from the concert should go directly to those in need through the Augustinian fund.
While hopefully raising funds for a good cause it also promises to be a very enjoyable evening of popular songs that were recorded by the Greek singer Nana Mouskouri in her more than sixty year career.
Carmel will also release a single, 'Maybe the Time', on the night of the concert. Recordings are available for purchase on the night and also crafts made by people from the Philippines that will raise funds for the cause, so Christmas shopping is also an option on the night for those looking for a meaningful gift.
Tickets are €15/€12 with a special rate for a group of ten at €10 per ticket. Book early at the Droichead Arts Centre at 041 9833946
