Dunmore Wind Power Ltd has sought an extension of duration of Planning Permission, granted in 2009, for permission to erect a single wind turbine generator with a maximum height (tower height) of 80m and a maximum blade length of 40m. Permission is now sought to increase the maximum hub height and blade length from 120m to 125.5m and to move the centre of the turbine 5m to the east. It's based at Leaby Cross. Collon.
Board of Management at Collon National School has sought permission for a single storey extension at the rear of the school, including two classrooms, ancillary accommodation and associated site works.
THE Drumcar Tractor and car run takes place on Sunday, April 13, commencing at 11 a.m. from IFM Mullins Cross, Dunleer.
There is a model plant and farm machinery display in O'Reilly's Field, Drumcar, at 4 p.m.
The event is in aid of Clogherhead RNLI and Special baby care unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

THE CUBE IN ARDEE
Sean McDermotts Gfc are holding a fundraiser in the parish centre Ardee on Saturday, April 26, based on the TV show 'The Cube'.
They are looking for 40 people to represent a club, group, charity, company etc. The winner gets €5,000 for their group.
Each contestant needs to get a €100 sponsor and sell 20 tickets (the club sells these not just the contestant).

TOM DUFF AT 80
A VERY Happy birthday, although its a few days late at this stage, to Tom Duff. He held the big 80th in the Hunterstown Inn recently.
Of course, one of the family is world renowned singer Mary Duff.
