A devastated family has said a final farewell to a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, described by Fr Denis McNelis as an 'infectious spirit......who always made light of her achievements in life'.
Dympna Wolsey from Golf Links Road, Mornington, and formerly of Belfast, passed away suddenly at home on August 5 .
The wife of former Drogheda Independent Managing Director, Michael Wolsey and mother to Sorcha, Róisín and Naoise, Dympna's funeral Mass took place to Laytown Church on Saturday.
In a touching reflection on her life, Fr McNelis spoke with great warmth about a wonderful woman who had been a secondary school teacher and stock exchange trader, before running a creche and becoming a researcher for the CSO.
A Co. Down woman by birth, she moved to Belfast at an early age and would meet Michael Wolsey there. They parted, but met again in London and that was that.
Travel and reading were her joys, never mind the children and grandchildren, whom she adored.
'Michael found his soul with her, his reason to live. She brought love and joy to lives and she had a good life, well lived. Remember her with fondness,' Fr McNelis added.
Dympna is very sadly missed by her loving husband and daughters, family partners Seán, Mamady and Mark, grandchildren Cian, Caoimh, Eoin and Sinead, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
