Locals invest in St. Joe's

THE HSE might be dragging their heels in relation to tackling the issue of saving St Joseph's Hospital in Ardee but the local population is certainly not.
They are constantly fundraising through the 'Friends of St. Joseph's Group' and were on hand to make a further donation last week.
'We offer this donation to support the work and care provided by the staff of St. Josephs. We hope that this money will go some way to provide those little extra comforts to enrich the lives of the residents of St. Joseph's,' said Mary Kearney from the group. Monies were collected from a table quiz held in the Nuremore Hotel.
Bernie Murphy expressed her gratitude to the group, and the broader community for their continued support for the hospital.
Invited to the occasion was Kevin Bailey of the Save St. Joseph's Campaign group, and a local electoral candidate, who also expressed his appreciation for the substantial donation.
'This money gathered from the community, by the tireless efforts of Pat Duignan and his dedicated team, is most welcome, and indicates the continuous heart-felt warmth of the broader community for St. Joseph's.
'It also strengthens my resolve to continue the campaign for St. Joseph's despite the now broken promises that were made last June and indicated by the lack of any real progress in the essential upgrade work required since those promises were made.'
