Epic walkers Paul and Karen enter Sligo territory

Dromin couple Paul and Karen McGovern entered county Sligo last weekend as they begin their final two weeks of an epic 49-day journey from Mizen to Malin, all in aid of MS Ireland.

The pair are hoping to raise €100,000 for the cause, and importantly, raise awareness of MS nationwide.

Paul and Karen walked through Co Mayo in midweek before making it to Sligo on Friday. They had a day off at the weekend, but spent it fundraising!

This week they are on the road again to make Malin by July 20th.

They face a couple of huge days on the road, including July 14th when they walk the 26 miles from Killybegs to Dungloe.

Two days later, it's 31 miles, Dungloe to Letterkenny.

Their final walk next week will be 23 miles to Malin on Thursday.

The pair have had a number of early starts to make their destinations each day but will be looking at 5am departures to make sure they make Malin within their deadline.

They expect to be walking through Dunleer on Saturday July 22. A big night has been organised for that evening in the Glyde Inn in Annagassan with music by the Full Shilling.
