THEY SAY good things come in threes, and so it was for Ann Carroll from Duleek, who celebrated the new year, her 50th birthday and 30 years married to husband Tom all on new year's eve!
The triple party was held in O'Neill's and the popular woman from Ryan's Park, was surrounded by 200 family members and friends, as well as close neighbours.
'It was a brilliant night, and we had a great turnout, with the place packed all night,' says Ann, who comes from a large family of nine siblings.
'I have four children - Paddy and daughters Bernadette, Josephine and Brigid - and they were there with their other halves, but grandchildren Shannon (3), Brianna (10 mths) and Ella (six mths) were too young to come along.'
The pub DJ kept the floor full all night, and Ann says she was delighted to see so many come along to help her celebrate the milestone birthday as well as her own wedding anniversary/
'I don't feel the colour of 50, but I suppose I must be if I have been married that long,' she laughs.
'My mother-in-law couldn't make the night, as she wasn't feeling well, but she has been great to me for 30 years, and she was missed at the party.
'My daughter-in-law came along from Julianstown though, and I want to thank everyone for a great night and some lovely presents.'
As if all the reasons to celebrate into the new year weren't enough, Ann and Tom's eldest daughter will be getting married in March, so they're already gearing up for another party!
