HAS YOUR child an interest in drawing, thinking and making things? Then the Highlanes Gallery is the place to go.
On Wednesday, August 6 ther will be a workshop from 1.30-4pm for ages six-10 years. Working with artist Andrew Livingstone, children will learn how to model clay and sculpt their own small figure.
The aim of this workshop is to create a set of small clay figures that will be placed outside the galley to be eroded by the weather.
The figures will become part of the exhibition 'Virtually There' and visitors to the gallery will be able to view the change in the work over the period of the exhibition. The figures will ultimately dissolve through exposure to the natural elements. There are 12 places available.
Children, please bring a jam jar or some other kind of clear jar and things you find in nature such as empty snail shells, moss, leaves, seed heads, petals etc.
Workshops are €5 per child. To book, telephone the gallery on 041 9803311 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
