Bettystown GOAL Mile a great success

ALMOST 200 people turned up in St. Colmcille's GFC, Bettystown, on Christmas Day to run or walk the GOAL mile, raising more than €3,000 for the charity.
On a bright, sunny morning the first group of participants were sent on their way by local rugby legend, Shane Horgan. Young and old joined in enthusiastically, with the fittest recording times of around six minutes and the not-so-fit, slightly longer!
'It was gratifying to see so many people who were prepared to give their time on Christmas morning and contribute to GOAL's humanitarian efforts,' said organiser Michael Craig.
