Area rocked by number of sad deaths

THE AREA has been saddened by a number of deaths in the past week, including Jack McGuinness, who came from the highly respected Richardstown family.
Jack passed away at the Mater Hospital in Dublin and his funeral was to St. Michael's Church in Darver on Sunday. Of Oakfield House, Drumleck, Castlebellingham and late of Richardstown Castle, Dunleer, he is survived by his wife Joan and family, Sarah, John and Louise plus brothers Pat and Tony, sister Deirdre, and other relatives.
The death of Kathleen Brennan from Mosstown was the end of an era in many respects. Kathleen was in her 97th year and passed away on Wednesday in Moorehall, Ardee. She is survived by son Joseph and other relatives. Her funeral was last Friday in Saint Brigids Church, Dunleer.
Dunleer also lost Alice Carrie (née Mulholland) of the Drumcar Road. She is survived by her brothers Hugh, Noel and John sisters Mary, Anna, Peggy, Patricia, Lilly and Kathleen and other relatives.
The death has also occurred of Michael McMahon of Wyanstown House, Togher. His funeral was Saturday to St. Columcille's Church, Togher. He is survived by wife Ann and family.
Sharon McKenny's death last week shocked the town of Ardee. A large attendance paid their respects on Sunday at the funeral mass. Sharon tragically lost a son, Paul, in a drowning accident in Ardee in 1998.
