Senior citizens group get back to business following festive fun

Guests enjoying the Drogheda Senior Citizens Interest Group Christmas party in the Loaves and Fishes.

THE Drogheda Senior Citizens Interest Group are getting back to business after a busy seasonal period, that included a Christmas Day party in the Loaves and Fishes in Ballsgrove.

'We would like to thank all the volunteers that gave up their time on Christmas Day. In particular we would like to thank the following volunteers: Kevin Dunne, Jason King, Yves, John Flood, Fintan Malone, Eimear Furlong, Pat Smith, William Woods, Owen Summer, Brian Nolan, Margaret Brady, Darvre Parkes, Teresa Dillion, Mairead Dillion, Anthony Dillion, Grainne England, Jess England, Donal O' Sullivan, Ken O' Heiligh and Pauline Connor,' a spokesperson said.

The day was a huge success with 30 people enjoying Christmas dinner followed by fantastic entertainment provided by Hugh Murphy, John Flood, Fintan Malone and Eimear Furlong.

'We would also like to thank the Mayor Richie Culhane for joining us on the day and local business's who made donations towards the event – Boots, Boyne Valley Foods, Coca Cola, Glanbia, Marks & Spencers, Mooreland Cafe, Natures Best, Mullens Pub, Penny's, Supervalu, Townley & Son, Tuites Butchers, Mc Allisters, Mahers Chemist, Tesco, Mc Kenna Man, Homeflair, Paddy Dwyer, Westcourt Hotel, Sapphire Hairdressers, Connors Butchers, The Little Cake Company, Southgate Chemist, Raymond Lambe Butchers, Irish Cement, Kierans Deli, Kevins Butchers, James Nugent & Son, Crimmins Gift Shop and Drogheda Credit Union.'
