Valentine's with Mad Mary!
Tickets are flying out the door for a special Valentines Night screening of "A Date With Mad Mary", written and directed by local Drogheda brothers, Darren and Colin Thornton, both of whom will be there on the night for a post film discussion.
Joint winner of Best Irish Feature at last year's Galway Film Fleadh, A Date for Mad Mary sees director Darren Thornton make an auspicious debut, underpinned by an exceptional performance by lead actress Seana Kerslake.
Mary, just released following a six month prison sentence, returns home to Drogheda, eager to reunite with best friend Charlene (Charleigh Bailey), and ready to act as maid of honour.
Needing a date for the wedding, Mary embarks on a series of disastrous encounters before events take an unexpected turn. Kerslake's nuanced portrayal is entirely convincing, showing both the vulnerability and the turmoil at the heart of Mary's character together with her street sharpened wit.
