Singer Eimear wins Sky TV music prize

LOCAL TEEN country singer Eimear Furlong has won a major national award.

The 15-year-old from Ballymakenny Road was awarded Best Young Female Singer at the Sky Television Hot Country awards in Monasterevin last week.

Eimear's current single is 'Cinderella', which she recorded with local musician Steve Milne and on which Mary Duff helped with the backing vocals.

The video was produced by local man Ben Corcoran, and it has now reached over 7,000 hits on Youtube.

Among some of the other recipients were some of Eimear's idols Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Declen Nerney, Crystal Swing, Louise Morrisey, Eileen King and many more.

Eimear is presently in the recording studios, where she is finishing off her latest single.
