A YOUNG Ardee girl is set to perform alongside West End legend Rebecca Storm in a story about St Brigid.

Rhiannon Clarke Downey (10) is part of the cast for 'The Cloak', taking place next week for three nights.

It will be staged in the magnificent and apt St. Brigid's Cathedral in Kildare and Rhiannon is the only person from Louth in the show.

Written and directed by Padraig J. Dunne, it tells how St. Brigid's mother arrived in Ireland from Portugal for the Louth Chieftan Dubhach.

The show is portrayed through Irish dance and powerful music. Filming for the backing screens took place in the Wicklow Mountains, The Curragh, and Hook Head in Wexford.

Rhiannon attends Gavin Quigley's Born 2 Perform Stage School and the Flanagan, McMahon, Moore School of Irish Dancing. Her dance teachers Karen, Catherine and David have given her lots of help and support leading up to the show. Gavin, Louise, Jill, Vanessa and Orla in the stage school are delighted with her achievement.

Rhiannon was very busy with rehearsals every weekend and in the evenings in the run up to the show, which takes place next Thursday to Saturday, September 26 to 28.

The Cloak is an original idea and has been described by experienced personalities within the entertainment industry as potentially the next Riverdance.

The star, Rebecca Storm, (singing and acting the part of St. Brigids' mother Broicsech) has captivated audiences for over 30 years, establishing herself as one of the most popular leading ladies in musical theatre through demanding roles including Eva Peron in 'Evita', and Fantine in 'Les Miserables'.

Part proceeds support Solas Bhride, ISPCA, Crumlin Children's Hospital, Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland, Irish Cancer Society and Barnardos.
