SAINT Mary's GFC has hired the services of Mary the cow to help put the 'fun' back into fundraising with a novel event it has christened 'The Plop Drop'.

St Mary's GFC in Donore-Rosnaree deserve a 'pat' on the back for what must be one of the most unique concepts the area has ever seen to raise money for the redevelopment of their site.

The club has hired the services of Mary and is selling grids on their grounds to eager members of the public keen to support their cause.

On March 15 Mary the Cow will be released onto St Mary's Park and if she decides to have her first 'Plop' on your grid you will win €1,000!

Grids costs €5 and are available from all committee members and players.

'The Plop Drop' is a fundraiser that will contribute to the redevelopment of the Clubhouse at St Mary's Park.

The current clubhouse was opened in 1988 and is struggling to accommodate the growing number of players, particularly at juvenile level.

The new clubhouse will double the number of changing rooms, provide a new gym and meeting rooms along with a community hall that will be accessible to all local voluntary groups.
