Pat's new charity Christmas CD

Published 18/12/2013 | 05:28

FORMER Dunleer garda sergeant and tidy towns organiser Pat Roche has written and recorded a Christmas song to help those devastated in the Philippines.

'I was thinking to myself what could I do in a practical way for the Philippines Relief Fund and while listening to the radio I heard a voice from the Philippines from the Charity GOAL and just as quickly I had the inspiration to write a Christmas Carol for the Philippines and channel it through GOAL,' he stated.

'Within a week I had written lyrics and music for a Christmas Carol which is called 'Christ Was Born in Bethlehem' recorded at Crilly Studios,' he remarked. It features Pat and the Cara Folk Group Dunleer.

'It is intended that all funds raised from this will go to GOAL Charity for the Philippines Relief Fund. A single CD is available for sale at Centra Supermarket in Dunleer and for those further afield it is available as a download on itunes and android version. There are a few by the same name so watch out for the version by the Cara Folk Group,' he added.
