The group took their bow at a recent book launch at Ardee Daycare Centre and got rave reviews for their performance.

Led by teacher Mary Ryan, the group has only been together a matter of months but the practice is clearly paying dividends.

The students play everything, from tin whistle to bodhran, guitar, ukulele and fiddle and are very trad orientated.

'This is their first official gig,' Ms Ryan said.

'They work hard and do a lot of it on their own and that pays off.'
