FAMILY AND friends joined former colleagues and Crime Correspondent Paul Reynolds at the launch on Saturday night of Michael Bohan's Book 'The Arresting Tales of Michael F'.
The former Garda Chief Superintendent proudly showed off his book of memoirs to a packed gathering in the Millmount Museum, regaling everyone with more than one tale from his colourful and successful career.
'It went so well and the amount of people who turned out far exceeded all our expectations, 'said daughter Gretta.
'People came from all over and it was great to see my brother John and his daughter Emma from London, as well as my sister Breeda and brother Michael, who made a great speech.'
Also present was John's mother-in-law Joan McMahon, former colleagues Joe Delaney and Michael Rogan and Michael's wife Breda.
'We were especially delighted to welcome Paul Reynolds to launch the book, as his father John Willie Reynolds and my father were best buddies for years, and he stayed for most of the night, happy to chat to guests.'
The book is an enthralling collection of the former garda's recollections and anecdotes from his many years on the beat and in the service of the Garda Siochana.
Some are heartwarming and delightful, others are a unique perspective on some of the worst murder or terrorism cases to visit our shores.
All are compelling and this is a book you will find hard to put down once you pick it up.
'Dad's grandchildren Emma and Robert and fiancee Fiona were also there at the launch, and he was very proud of them all,' adds Gretta.
'We were also particularly proud when we got a call from Eason's asking for more copies of the book before Christmas!'
'The Arresting Tales of Michael F' is published by local company Choice and is available from Eason's and other good book shops priced €12.99.
