DROGHEDA singing sensation Katy Anna Mohan (18) can't believe the reaction she's had to her performance on The Voice last Sunday evening, with all four judges fighting to sign her up.
'It has been amazing,' she declared. As part of her agreement with the show, she couldn't tell any of her friends what exactly happened at the blind auditions.
'Only my family who were up with me knew the outcome so it was tough not telling people,' she revealed.
Katy Anna performed 'Spectrum' on the day of the auditions and Sunday's RTE show saw Kian Egan turn first, followed by Jamelia and just as she finished, she got all four, Sharon Corr and Niall Breslin, or Bressie as he is better known.
Katy Anna admitted she was shocked, but delighted with the comments that followed.
'That is my favourite ever version of that song,' Bressie immediately remarked, with Sharon saying she was a 'very special artist'.
'You are the best female so far, without a shadow of a doubt. You are what we want,' Kian added before Jamelia finished with 'you were fearless. I'm a big fan already'.
After some consideration, she went with Bressie, the former lead singer and guitarist with The Blizzards.
She will now battle it out with another of Bressie's 12-strong team for a place in the last six and a spot on live TV from March 17th onwards.
The battle has already been filmed but Katy Anna, the former Greenhills College student, is remaining tight-lipped about the outcome. 'You'll have to watch the programme over the next four weeks to find out,' she exclaimed.
