Wins for sibling jockeys Pat and Jane Mangan

CONNA Fermoy jockey Pat Mangan, won the featured chase at Galway races on Monday on 14/1 chance Selection Box for Northern Ireland trainer Colin McBratney, drawing clear inside the final furlong to win by four lengths from Zardsky.
The Mangan family had a day to remember at Clonmel on Thursday last where Pat won the opening 2ml4f maiden hurdle on 11/2 chance Carries Darling for his father Jimmy, and his sister Jane won the concluding bumper on 25/1 chance Posidon Sea, for former professional jockey Pat Shanahan.
Jane continued her winning streak at Down Royal races on Saturday where she won the feature hurdle race of the day, the €40,000 Grade C handicap hurdle on 8/1 chance Beef To The Heels, for trainer Gordon Elliott, and owners Gigginstown House Stud.
Meanwhile, Lisgoold jockey Paul Townend was in double winning form, at Down Royal last Friday, winning the 2ml 4f beginners chase on 13/8 fav Beneficient, which triumphed by 4 1/2 lengths from El Fontan. He doubled up in the 2ml handicap chase on 3/1 fav Pires, which was all out to win by less than a length from Monastrell. Both are trained by Tony Martin.
Kanturk duhallow wil hold their autumn point to point races at Dromore Dromahane Mallow this Sunday at 12.00 noon.
